More Mammatus

An evening thunderstorm is retreating and in its wake is this mammatus formation. The setting sun illuminates the sky in red. orange, and yellow. Mammatus form on the underside of the thunderstorm anvil. Pilots report at flight level that mammatus appear transparent. The form as heat pours out of the thunderstorm top and sinks to create the pouches seen in these photos.
